Welcome to the Katie Weaver Art Blog!

Welcome to the Katie Weaver Art Blog!

Why am I starting a blog?

I've discovered that I love writing and learning about the creative process. There is so much to explore! I'm encouraged by the thought that we are moving towards a more creative economy, with more and more people doing what inspires them and sharing it with the world.

What is the Katie Weaver Art Blog about?

My blog dives into big-picture creativity, as well as thoughts on productivity, life balance (is it possible?) and the things that inspire us.

It also aims to demystify artistic terms and teach you about different forms of art and the benefits of having it in your life. The themes I'll be exploring include:

  • Art
  • The Creative Process
  • How To's
  • Energy Management
  • Book Reviews & Insights

About Me:

I am a Seattle area artist specializing in patterned paintings and linocut prints inspired by the natural world. I believe that connecting with nature and following seasonal rhythms helps us feel our best!

Using stencils, brushes, and handmade stamps I create paintings that aim to express both positive energy and a sense of calm. I love capturing simple moments of beauty and bringing together refreshing color combinations that inspire a bit of reflection and ease.

With degrees in Anthropology/Sociology and Marketing, my professional journey has taken me through non-profit organizations, schools, and museums, including the Smithsonian Institution. These places have influenced my thoughts about art, business and creativity. I've been painting for more than two decades and have taken a wide variety of art classes and workshops on painting, mixed media, and printmaking in both Washington, DC and Washington State. Now I’m fully devoted to my art business and family. In addition to art, I'm a big fan of awesome scenery, dark chocolate, and getting lost in a good book!
